Natural Pond done in GRP - Emsworth

This project was a rare opportunity for us to design and build a nature pond with a GRP Former.

Usually this method is only applied to Koi Ponds where the client has a much heathier budget. This client liked the GRP option with no unsightly liner folds in sight.

The hole was excavated and 25mm Celotex is used to form the lower and upper vertical edges. Concrete is then poured between these edges. The top of the Celotex is rounded off and sealed with foil tape ready for its GRP coating.

GRP is laid up to 1200g/sq mm and doubled on all corners. Two coats of gel coat are then applied to seal the pond.

This method is concrete free within the pond and will last in excess of 25 years and is almost un-breakable.
